The runway at Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla, Nepal. The start of the 40 mile hike to Everest base camp and considered by some to be the most dangerous airport in the world. It was constructed in 1964 under the supervision of Sir Edmund Hillary himself, having purchased the land from local Sherpas for $2650 USD.
