Tahoe sunsets can create a strong glow when conditions are right. The low-angle light glances the ocean, squeezes above the Sierra's, and bounces between the clouds and the crystal clear water. If the marine layer in the pacific is too thick, the clouds to the west too low, or the sky above the water free of clouds, you will get almost no color at sunset, but when conditions are like this it is pure magic for about 15 minutes.
